Something I believe most British residents suffer from, although this year it shouldn't be as bad due to the glorious summer we all had.....or could that actually amplify S.A.D symptoms I wonder?

That's an interesting theory that we can somehow store up that sun to get us through the winter. I hope you are right.

As a Swede, I'm sorry to say that storing up the sun doesn't really work, but a trip to a sunny place in darkest winter is a good idea!

And also making sure to get natural light the few hours it exists, just have a lunchtime walk, it really helps

Mine's kicked in already, and the clocks haven't even gone back yet

I bloody love autumn and winter. That cold crispness in the air, the warm fires, the cosiness. You get to wear better clothes. In winter, the mind is more celebrated than the body.

Best way to combat the lack of sunlight is to fit your house with "day light" bulbs. Give you the correct color rendering that helps winter light fatigue. If you need lighting advice, ask.

"Best way to combat the lack of sunlight is to go out in the day."

Siting in your man cave all day bashing them out will inevitably lead to a lack of energy and low self esteem.

When i worked in an office only the smokers went outside, i guess everyone should be encouraged to go outside and walk about and clear their head for a more productive working day.

"When i worked in an office only the smokers went outside, i guess everyone should be encouraged to go outside and walk about and clear their head for a more productive working day."

this very remarkable quote regarding suffering from S.A.D

[sic] "it's as if my mood turns grey at the same time as the sky"

Where would we all be without poetry ?

I must go down to the sea again,

to the lonely sea and the sky;

I left my shoes and socks there,

I wonder if they're dry?
