Is this site considered a commercial pornography site.... ?

Porn sites that are free do not need age verification...!!!

"The UK will become the first country in the world to bring in age-verification for online pornography when the measures come into force on 15 July 2019.

It means that commercial providers of online pornography will be required by law to carry out robust age-verification checks on users, to ensure that they are 18 or over. The move is backed by 88% of UK parents with children aged 7-17, who agree there should be robust age-verification controls in place to stop children seeing pornography online"

And the use of VPNs' will also mean that a user can circumvent the checks.....anyone under 16 will be able to get around them in about 15 seconds...

From experience I think ISPs see this as a porn site.

When working away from recently and access the web via my phone, I had to remove the adult restrictions Three had imposed. So yes I would expect this site to be affected.

That would be a real nuisance. Not sure I want to hand my credit card number and real name to most of the companies that are likely to be running the verification.

Know exactly what you mean. However mine was just a setting within my online account for my provider. I guess it's going to depend on the provider as to what they accept as verification?

Could very well be, but I've been using them for a number of years and it only 'appeared' last week. To me it feels like a change in their policy for whatever reason.

I don't have, and never have had, a credit card. That may have to change.

That is your network, you need ID to prove your age to lift the parental block

Oh really? The government contacted EVERY parent with children between those ages for their opinion? I don't think so. More likely they ran a poll and 88% of the responses backed it, there were probably no verifications that the respondents were genuine and the total number was likely very small therefore not representative. People who aren't concerned would not have bothered to vote in such a poll leaving the minority who are.

Going to be interesting when those parents find out they are registered for porn sites when their kids borrowed their credit cards.

In reality this has nothing to do with protecting kids and everything to do with government snooping. It's also a great thing for criminals and scammers who will take advantage of it though the anti-porn brigade will be happy about that as it will discourage people from registering for sites.

I read (Guardian perhaps) that 75% of people didn't even know it was happening!
