If you just want a good drink, you won't have any trouble finding a good pub.
I've been to the swingers club you mentioned on another post and I have to say that it's a fine spot. It's not as large as the clubs down south (so I believe, I've not actually been any of the English clubs), but it's clean and friendly, cosy in fact, and is quite a sociable place on a Saturday night. If there's any criticism it's just that's it can sometime get too sociable rather than sexy. There's one open play room and three closed rooms and I've never seen any problems with the gents not taking no to mean no.
